Certified Under the USDA National Organic Program: Organic integrity in body care means that the main ingredients as well as secondary ingredients in an organic labeled or branded product are certified organic, produced in compliance with the National Organic Program. Consumers rightly trust products certified to the USDA’s National Organic Program, to ensure the organic integrity of organic labeled products.
The rabbit and stars logo of the Coalition for Consumer information on Cosmetics (CCIC). This logo certifies that our product and all of our ingredients are not tested on animals. The CCIC, a coalition of animal rights organizations, requires independent audit for confirmation. Many people have no idea how extensive animal testing is in the cosmetic industry. These tests are extremely painful, usually resulting in death, and are almost always unnecessary. Almost all ingredients have been tested on animals at some point in the past, and there is extensive safety information available through literature searches. Even if testing should be necessary, there are many tests available to establish product safety that do not involve animals. To continue testing on animals for the sake of human vanity when we already have many safe, established ingredients and formulations is inhumane.

FRAGRANCE OILS AND NEUROTOXICITY
Although the International Fragrance Association generally regards fragrance oils as safe, we do not use them in any of our products due to scholarship which strongly suggests that fragrance oils do have neurotoxic potential. This scholarship goes back to 1986 when the National Academy of Sciences targeted synthetic fragrances as one of the six categories of chemicals that should be given high priority for neurotoxicity testing. The report states that 95 percent of chemicals used in fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. They include benzene derivatives, aldehydes, and many other known toxics and sensitizers, which are capable of causing cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions.

we use PVC-free and Bisphenol-A free containers, biodegradable cornstarch and recycled peanuts, and acid-free, recycled paper. We support tangible improvement in the lives of organic farmers by purchasing our raw materials directly from them and from suppliers who share our fair trade philosophy. We use no ingredient that is acquired from deforested lands.
